Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Medicare and who is eligible?
Medicare is a federal health insurance program primarily for people 65 or older. You may also qualify under 65 if you have a disability, End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), or ALS. Eligibility is based on age or qualifying condition — not employment status.
Can I apply for Medicare while still working?
Yes. Medicare eligibility is not tied to employment. If you are 65 or older, you can enroll during your Initial Enrollment Period. If you also have employer coverage, a licensed agent can help you understand what makes sense for your situation.
Will I lose Medicare if I move to another state?
Original Medicare (Parts A and B) stays with you anywhere in the U.S. However, certain private Medicare plans are regional — notify your plan before moving to understand your options in the new location.
Is there a penalty for enrolling in Medicare late?
In many cases, yes. If you miss your enrollment window without qualifying for a Special Enrollment Period, you may face permanent premium increases. Call us and we'll help you understand exactly when and how to enroll.

Please also contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE, or your local State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) to learn about all available options in your area.
