What shapes your health insurance quote
Every insurer weighs things a little differently, but these come up almost every time.
- Where you live
- Plans and networks are set county by county, so your ZIP code decides what's available.
- Household size and income
- These determine whether you may qualify for premium tax credits on Marketplace plans.
- Age
- Premiums for individual plans can vary by age within limits set by law.
- Tobacco use
- Some states allow insurers to charge more for tobacco users.
- Plan level
- Bronze through Platinum plans trade a lower premium for higher out-of-pocket costs, or the reverse.

Health insurance questions
Still unsure? An agent can answer questions about your situation.
When can I enroll?
Open Enrollment for Marketplace plans usually runs from November 1 to January 15 in most states. Outside that window you need a qualifying life event, such as losing other coverage, moving, marriage or having a baby.
Can I be turned down for a pre-existing condition?
Marketplace (ACA) plans cannot deny you or charge more because of a pre-existing condition. Short-term and some supplemental plans can.
Is this HealthCare.gov?
No. My Policy Partner is a private quote service and is not affiliated with HealthCare.gov or any government agency.
